MediaLink's Michael Kassan to interview Diller on the rise of direct to consumer media

Arlington, VA, November 28, 2016 - The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™ today announced that Expedia, Inc. Chairman and Senior Executive Barry Diller will deliver the C Space Keynote at CES® 2017. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association, CES will run from Jan. 5-8, 2017, in Las Vegas, NV.

The C Space Keynote, presented by MediaLink, is slated for 10:30 AM Thursday, January 5, at the Westgate Theater and will include an exclusive interview with Diller moderated by Michael E. Kassan, chairman and CEO of MediaLink, immediately followed by a panel discussion with top media and marketing leaders.

The session will explore the ways digital technology continues to disrupt the industry, which has in turn driven new ways to produce, distribute, and monetize content across the media landscape. Empowered consumers are gravitating to differentiated brands and experiences that are highly customized, increasingly convenient, and offer a consistent and excellent caliber of content. Disruptor companies are racing against incumbents to drive consumer value, vying to be the first to deliver what users want, potentially even before it is clear they want it.

"Barry Diller is synonymous with content creation," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. "He has been at the forefront of every innovation in the entertainment industry, and is the perfect fit for our C Space Keynote Panel. We are very excited to see how Barry, Michael and the rest of the keynote panel bring the C Space story to life at CES."

In addition to his roles at Expedia, Inc., Diller also serves on the board for several organizations and companies, including The Coca-Cola Company and the Graham Holdings Company (formerly The Washington Post Company). Diller previously served as Chairman and CEO of both QVC, Inc. and Fox, Inc. Prior to joining Fox, he served for 10 years as the Chairman of Paramount Pictures Corporation and was previously the Vice President of Prime Time Television for ABC Entertainment. He also keynoted CES in 1998 when he was the Chairman and CEO of HSN, Inc.

Michael Kassan is Chairman and CEO of MediaLink, the leading strategic advisory and business development firm that provides implementation services to companies at the convergence of media, marketing, advertising, entertainment and technology. In addition to developing, refining and executing strategies that drive competitive advantage and business acceleration for its partners, the company has diversified its product suite to include executive search, conference programming and event production.

"In collaboration with MediaLink, year after year we have produced meaningful conversations from the biggest market leaders sitting at the intersection of media, marketing, technology and entertainment. We are proud to celebrate this partnership and bring to life another conversation that will highlight the importance of content to technology," continued Shapiro.

C Space comes to life as the experiential program for advertising, content, entertainment and marketing. It's where serendipitous meetings occur, radical new technologies are discovered and the verticals of the global media business are at the forefront of conversations.

In addition to the C space keynote, three days of C space programming will take place at the Aria including sessions by Variety, MediaLink, Digital Hollywood, and The Palmer Group, as well as exciting C Space Storyteller sessions presented by Spotify, Google, Verizon Digital Media Services, Turner, BBC Earth and many more.
